Bear Grylls Fitness

- 09 May 2017

Adventure In Architecture° are very pleased to be working on a series of indoor multi level fitness zones, designed specifically for people training for OCR events such as Tough Mudder. Previously, nowhere existed which allowed people to train for such events, which test all parts of your body and mental endurance and therefore it was important that each obstacle was created to challenge the body in a similar way. The course can be used both as a continuous route or with isolated obstacles used for various exercises during a class and in the future the design which is modular will be able to be purchased by other people to install into their sites.

Approximately 18 obstacles are set around a black painted steel mezzanine with simple colour scheme of steel, black and orange which reflect Bear Grylls Fitness branding. Being the first of its kind, inspiration was taken from assault courses and fitness events like Ninja Warrior to create a type of fitness which reflects Bear Grylls' spirit and the company ethos. The first site opened in December 2016 in Trafford, closely followed by Derby. More recently in April 2017, the Croydon site opened its doors to the public, with multiple more sites in the pipeline.

Recently Adventure In Architecture° took some of its clients to test of newly opened Bear Grylls Fitness: Croydon to try out the new obstacles included in this design, including the iconic curved ramp run and the peg board.
